Director Heejun Shin of SCH Bucheon Hospital Disaster Medicine Center Publishes International Research Paper on CBRN Preparedness in Prestigious Journal
Director Heejun Shin of the Disaster Medicine Center at Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital has achieved the significant feat of publishing a paper, co-authored as part of an international collaborative research project, in the prestigious 'Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management,' a renowned journal in the field of crisis and disaster management.
The published article, titled "Evaluating the Performance of Agreement Metrics in a Delphi Study on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Major Incidents Preparedness Using Classical and Machine Learning Approaches," examines and evaluates the performance of agreement metrics in a Delphi study concerning preparedness for major Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) incidents. It also compares classical and machine learning approaches within this field.
Director Heejun Shin stated, "I am proud to have participated in a new experience as part of an international project." He added, "This research is significant in that it thoroughly reviewed the performance of agreement metrics in Delphi studies for CBRN major incident preparedness and compared traditional methods with the latest machine learning techniques."
Furthermore, Director Shin expressed his hope, saying, "We hope that the results of this research can contribute to improving actual crisis management strategies and enhancing the preparedness posture of national and local communities for major incidents."
Based on this research achievement, the SCH Bucheon Hospital Disaster Medicine Center plans to continue its efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and response capabilities and contribute to the advancement of the related field.
