라오스 보건의료인 대상 화생방·대테러 재난 대응 교육 진행
순천향대학교 부천병원 재난의학센터는 2025년 8월 26일, 한국국제보건의료재단(KOFIH) 주관 『이종욱 펠로우십 임상과정』 2차년도 프로그램의 일환으로 라오스 보건의료인 10명을 대상으로 특수재난 대응 교육을 실시했습니다.

이번 교육은 화생방(CBRN) 및 대테러 상황을 중심으로 ▲현장 통제 구역(zone setup)과 개인보호장비(PPE) 착용, ▲화학재난 시 나타나는 중독 징후(토시드롬) 인지와 대응, ▲대량환자 발생 시 환자 분류(Triage) 및 제독(Decontamination) 절차, ▲해독제(antidote) 사용 등 화학재난 의료 대응의 핵심 요소들을 다뤘습니다.

또한 실제 사례를 가정한 시나리오를 기반으로 한 의사결정 훈련과 브리핑(Hot Wash)을 병행하여, 참가자들이 실전적 감각을 익히고 대응 역량을 한층 강화할 수 있도록 구성했습니다.

순천향대 부천병원 재난의학센터 관계자는 “이번 교육은 참가자들이 화생방 및 테러 상황 대응 절차를 실제적으로 체득할 수 있도록 설계되었다”며, “이를 통해 자국 내 보건위기 대응 수준을 높이는 데 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔습니다.
Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital Disaster Medicine Center Delivers Specialized Training on CBRN and Counter-Terrorism Response to Laotian Health Professionals

On August 26, 2025, the Disaster Medicine Center of Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital conducted a specialized training session for ten Laotian health professionals as part of the second-year program of the Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Clinical Course, organized by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH).

The session focused on CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) and counter-terrorism scenarios, covering key components of chemical disaster response: ▲setting up control zones and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), ▲recognition and management of toxidromes in chemical incidents, ▲mass-casualty triage and decontamination procedures, and ▲the application of antidotes.

The program also included scenario-based decision-making exercises and a structured “hot wash” debriefing, enabling participants to strengthen their practical readiness and situational awareness in disaster response.

A representative from the Disaster Medicine Center stated, “This training was designed to provide participants with hands-on understanding of CBRN and terrorism response protocols. We expect it will significantly enhance their capacity to manage public health emergencies in their home countries.”

ACEP25 국제 학술무대서 4편 발표 성과
순천향대학교 부천병원 재난의학센터(센터장 신희준 교수, 응급의학과)가 미국 솔트레이크시티에서 열리는 ACEP25 Research Forum에서 총 4편의 초록이 채택되며 국제 재난·응급의학 무대에서 연구 역량을 인정받았습니다.

이번 학술대회에서 발표될 연구는 △자연재해와 기술재해의 건강영향 비교 △고중증 테러 상황 전술적 환자분류 최적화 △9·11 이후 테러 유형별 의료 부담 분석 등 3편의 구연 발표와 △한국 내 정치폭력과 민간인 공격 양상의 변화: 전술의학적 함의라는 포스터 발표 1편입니다.

ACEP(미국응급의학회) Research Forum은 세계 각국 응급·재난의학 연구자들이 모여 최신 성과를 공유하는 권위 있는 학술 행사로, 이번 발표 채택은 한국 재난의학 연구의 국제적 위상을 높이는 계기가 될 것으로 기대됩니다.

순천향대 부천병원 재난의학센터는 최근 ‘2025 재난의학 국제 심포지엄’을 성공적으로 개최하는 등 국내외 학술 활동을 확대하며, 재난 대응과 교육 분야의 선도 기관으로 자리매김하고 있습니다.

Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital Disaster Medicine Center Achieves Recognition at ACEP25 with Four Presentations


 The Disaster Medicine Center at Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital (Director: Professor Heejun Shin, Department of Emergency Medicine) has been recognized on the global stage with the acceptance of four abstracts at the ACEP25 Research Forum in Salt Lake City, Utah.


 The presentations will include three oral sessions — a comparative analysis of health impacts from natural versus technological disasters, data-driven tactical triage optimization for high-severity terrorist attacks, and an analysis of post-9/11 medical burdens by terrorism type — along with one poster session on shifting political violence and civilian targeting in South Korea: tactical medicine implications.


 The ACEP (American College of Emergency Physicians) Research Forum is one of the most prestigious international conferences in the field of emergency and disaster medicine, bringing together researchers from around the world to share cutting-edge findings. The selection of these four studies underscores the growing international recognition of Korean disaster medicine research.


 Building on the success of hosting the 2025 International Symposium on Disaster Medicine, the Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital Disaster Medicine Center continues to expand its role as a leading institution in disaster response and education, both in Korea and on the global stage.
